Steve Bruce wants the England job

You can add another new name to the list of managers who want the England job, in the upcoming weeks we'll hear so many names being dropped here and there. But the reality is that not all of them are actually fit to take on the job, the new England manager doesn't necessarily need to be too old but he does need to have enough experience and a good recent track record. Because the English FA tends to select old managers who have lost their spark.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce is one of those names being dropped around England for the job, he isn't shying away from the challenge. Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail: "It's highly flattering and I'm honored to be linked with it. Whether or not it goes any further than that… It's the pinnacle isn't it? To manage your country, there's no bigger job. It's all speculation. There's a lot of people who have written nice things and I'm grateful for that."

He added: "Not just because I'm English but I hope they do [appoint an Englishman]. All these lads do their coaching badges, A licenses, pro licenses, then in my opinion the top of the FA should be English. I've always said that. There's no-one more patriotic than I am and to be linked with it is testament to the fact we're in the Premier League and there's only four or five English managers."
