With current first-choice Illan Meslier's situation coming under increased criticism, Leeds United has started negotiations with goalkeeper Lucas Perri in an effort to bolster their goalkeeping staff before returning to the Premier League. In order to secure their place and stability in the top flight, Leeds and Sunderland, another recently promoted team, are aggressively searching for a new goalkeeper. Both teams are aware that having a strong defense is essential to staying in the Premier League, and they base their strategy on having a dependable, capable goalie.
Perri, who is presently at Lyon, has become a strong contender for Leeds. The Whites are delighted with the 27-year-old Brazilian goalie. Perri's case is especially interesting because Lyon, who were recently demoted to Ligue 2 because of financial mismanagement and on-field difficulties, might have to let go of important players in order to stabilize their finances.
