Torino Holds Napoli to a 1-1 draw

Napoli was held to a 1-1 draw at home by Torino as the champions' comeback faltered ahead of a Champions League matchup against Barcelona. At the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, Antonio Sanabria's spectacular overhead kick in the 64th minute handed Torino a point and jeopardized Napoli's hopes of playing in Europe the following season. Three minutes after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave Napoli the lead, Sanabria scored his third goal of the year to help Francesco Calzona's team hold onto seventh place.

Napoli will play Juventus on Sunday, two points behind Atalanta, who holds the Europa Conference League spot. Given that Inter leads Juventus by 15 points, they are the clear favorites to overthrow Napoli for the Scudetto. Tuesday night, Napoli takes on Barca in Catalonia with the chance to advance to the quarterfinals of Europe's premier club championship.
