Tottenham Hotspur and Monaco share the spoils of the day

Thomas Frank would have hoped that Tottenham Hotspur's game would be a rebound after the heartbreaking loss to Aston Villa, but the team had little time to prepare. Thomas Frank's team was really fortunate to escape with a point in what was a subpar effort.

Spurs may have been lucky to enter the half with the scores tied after a difficult first half. Guglielmo Vicario arrived and made himself gigantic to save Spurs on both occasions when Folarin Balogun had two big chances to put Monaco ahead by slipping in behind the Spurs defense. In contrast, the Lilywhites had very few open-play scoring opportunities and were largely restricted to half-chances. The closest Spurs came to scoring a crucial goal was when Wilson Odobert supplied Richarlison on a brilliant counter, but the Brazilian was unable to get off a shot before the Monaco defense recovered.
