Venezia 2-0 down to beat high-flying Udinese

Sverko was not entirely fit, but the home team eventually broke their terrible run of results with a 2-2 draw at Monza in this local Friuli-Venezia-Giulia derby on the Laguna. Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, Arthur Atta, Gerard Deulofeu, Thomas Kristensen, Florian Thauvin, and Alexis Sanchez were still absent from the Friulani.

John Yeboah was unable to capitalize on a poor back-pass from Jesper Karlstrom, and Sandi Lovric put Filip Stankovic to the test at the near post following a nutmeg. When Lovric charged forward from midfield, teamed up with Iker Bravo, and swept in with the inside of the boot from the area's edge, Udinese broke the impasse. After 120 seconds, Stankovic dived down to make a terrific one-handed stop on Lorenzo Lucca's shot, bringing the score close to 3-0.
