At the end of the first half, Barca, who on Sunday lost 3-1 at Real Madrid, scored three goals to win over Villarreal. Lewandowski scored his first goal after receiving a cross from Jordi Alba, turning, and beating Geronimo Rulli with a shot. He then added a second goal shortly after off a ball from Gavi. In the 38th minute, Ansu Fati made it 3-0, moving Barcelona up to second place in La Liga, three points behind Real Madrid.
The victory marked Barca's first in three games following Lewandowski's injury-time goal in the 3-3 Champions League tie at home against Inter Milan and their subsequent loss in the El Clasico fixture at the Bernabeu. After Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Lewandowski, 34, is the third player since 2000 to surpass the 600-goal career milestone.
