William Saliba is Real Madrid’s top defensive target

Real Madrid's main defensive target is William Saliba; the Spanish powerhouse sees the Arsenal centre-back as the perfect answer to their struggling defence. Saliba is at the core of Real Madrid's defensive makeover plans because, despite only being 23 years old, he has already established himself as one of the best defenders in Europe. Nonetheless, Arsenal is adamant on keeping its best defender, who is similarly dedicated to his long-term future with the team.

Real Madrid has reportedly already made subtle enquiries about Saliba in an attempt to entice him with the Santiago Bernabéu's charms, according to Spanish media. They are reportedly willing to break transfer records by making a bid of more than €100 million to sign him. But according to the Sport story in the screenshot above, Arsenal rejected a €95 million approach from PSG just two months ago, demonstrating how important Saliba is to their Mikel Arteta-led effort.
