Having a tremendous experience in his career, Thein Than Win made his professional debut in 2009 with Magwe FC. Then, he moved to Shan United in 2012 spending 4 years. He represented the Myanmar U-23 in the 27th SEA Games in 2013.
His first international debut was in 2009 with Myanmar National U-19 Team. After 2013, he suffered an injury for a long time. But he recovered in 2016.
Yangon has already signed local players Kyi Lin, Mg Mg Win, Aung Kyaw Naing, Yan Paing Soe, and Htike Htike Aung from domestic clubs, and foreign players Barfo, Emmanuel, Shori and Aboubacar Congo.
