Arsenal had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Brighton

Arsenal had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Brighton on the road, and there were more injury concerns following the match. With a 1-1 draw away at Brighton, Arsenal lost the opportunity to seriously put pressure on league leaders Liverpool. Given the way the hosts performed in the second half, the Gunners really didn't earn a point, but a point is better than nothing.

Mikel Merino put young Ethan Nwaneri through down the right-hand side to open the score. Bart Verbruggen managed to get a hand on the teenager's well-placed shot, but it somehow found its way into the net. Following halftime substitutions by both sides, Brighton came out on top, and following a collision between Joao Pedro and William Saliba, the home team was given a penalties, which Pedro converted. Brighton appeared to have a better chance of winning, but the Gunners had to settle for a point instead.
