Arsenal snatched a 1-0 win against Manchester United

Arsenal snatched a 1-0 win at Old Trafford on Sunday as Riccardo Calafiori’s early header spoiled Manchester United’s Premier League opener. The Italian defender struck in the 13th minute, capitalising on poor goalkeeping from Altay Bayindir, who failed to deal with William Saliba’s challenge and palmed the ball straight into his path. While Mikel Arteta’s side showed their set-piece threat remains sharp, United were largely the stronger team.

New signings Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Patrick Dorgu all spurned promising chances, with Mbeumo denied by a superb diving stop from David Raya. The hosts dominated after the break, pushing Arsenal deep into their own half, but couldn’t find an equaliser. Arsenal’s resilience ensured they opened the season with three points, while United were left frustrated despite a spirited performance.
