Barcelona are weighing up a late move for Villarreal forward Karl Etta Eyong, with the 21-year-old available for just €5m due to his release clause. Despite limited first-team action at Villarreal, where he has scored twice in five appearances, Etta Eyong has been prolific at B-team level, netting 19 times in 30 games. He impressed again in Villarreal’s La Liga opener against Real Oviedo, playing the full 90 minutes and scoring in a 2-0 win.
According to Fichajes, Barcelona are considering triggering his clause and immediately loaning him to Real Betis, with Manuel Pellegrini already approving the idea. The plan would see the young striker spend the season gaining top-flight experience before joining Barcelona’s first-team setup in 2026-27. Etta Eyong began his career at Cadiz in 2022, where he also showed a sharp eye for goal with 14 strikes for their second team.
