Brazilian winger Kayky's permanent transfer to Bahia has been formally confirmed by Manchester City. The young player spent the majority of his time on loan after failing to secure a first-team position after signing a £9 million ($12 million) contract with the Citizens in 2021. Kayky's departure signals the beginning of many anticipated changes at the Etihad this summer as City starts to restructure their team.
Kayky had great expectations when he joined Manchester City from Fluminense, but he only made one Premier League appearance. Prior to playing on loan to Pacos de Ferreira, Sparta Rotterdam, and Bahia, he played mainly for the Elite Development Squad. His attempts to join Guardiola's ambitions were further thwarted in 2023 by a catastrophic Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. After spending the second half of the previous season at Bahia, Kayky's permanent move to Manchester City has finally been finalised.
