Burnley’s survival hopes were crushed after losing to Aston Villa

Burnley’s loss to Aston Villa 1-3 increased the relegation worries for them. Also, this is Mike Jackson’s first defeat after he took over as a caretaker charge of Burnley. Aston Villa ripped Burnley with Emi Buendia, Danny Ings, and Ollie Watkins scoring for their side. On the other hand, substitute Maxwel Cornet netted a goal for Burnley.

Jackson had taken an unlikely 10 points from a possible 12. A loss means that Burnley could end the weekend in the last 3 if Everton and Leeds can score points from their upcoming matches on Sunday. Philippe Coutinho has made it 6 games without any assists or goals last weekend. Burnley didn’t lose hope since they were looking forward to giving Aston Villa a response but they missed out on clear chances.
