European Championship 2016: France vs Albania preview

During the European Championship opener against Romania, France got a difficult victory thanks to a Dimitri Payet screamer in the last minute. But apart from Payet's performance which was already expected as such, the French press roughly questioned Paul Pogba's resolve as he was replaced on the second half after not having the best day on the Euros opener. But for Newcastle midfielder Sissoko, the press is paying way too much attention to what Pogba does without noticing the huge effort the rest of the team did.

This past Monday he spoke to reporters about Pogba and Antoine Griezmann: "I think you, the media, are too focused on Paul Pogba's performance. The first game was not easy for the whole team. Paul is one of our best players, he brings a lot to the team. We know Antoine's qualities and what he can bring to the team. He wanted to bring more , but it's not just Antoine or Paul's performances, it's a team.

"We know the first game was not brilliant but the goal was to win the game and that was the most important thing. Now we have two more group games, we will work well together, including Antoine and Paul, and I'm sure that during the rest of the tournament, we'll see a good French team with a great Antoine and a great Paul."

He also spoke about the violent images in Marseille last Saturday where Russia and England fans clashed in a massive brawl: : "We all saw the images, the shocking images. We feel disappointed and sad after what happened. I hope that the security will be at its maximum for the next games so that it doesn't happen again. I hope it will be the last big, bad story of this Euros."

Albania on their part, will be looking to win their first match after getting defeated on the first game against Switzerland last Saturday. The Marseille Velodrome will be the venue for this game, where the hosts expect to get full support from their fans.

Possible lineups:

France starting lineup (4-3-3 formation): Lloris; Sagna, Rami, Koscielny, Evra; Pogba, Kanté, Matuidi; Griezmann, Giroud, Payet.

Albania starting lineup (4-3-3 formation): Berisha; Hysaj, Lila, Mavraj, Agolli; Abrashi, Kukeli, Xhaka; Roshi, Sadiku, Lenjani.
