FC Barcelona are already shaping their 2026 transfer plans

FC Barcelona are already shaping their 2026 transfer plans, with replacing Robert Lewandowski a top priority. The 37-year-old striker’s contract expires next summer, and president Joan Laporta wants to secure a marquee forward as his successor.

Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid and Argentina is reportedly Laporta’s first-choice target, but Manchester City star Erling Haaland is also back on the radar, according to SPORT. Barcelona had pursued the Norwegian in 2022 before he joined City, but financial issues blocked any serious move in recent years. Now, with an election year approaching, Laporta is prepared to make a major splash to win over supporters. His close ties with Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, could aid any future attempt. While challenging, Barcelona are not ruling out a bold approach for Haaland in 2026.
