Frankfurt upset Bundesliga table topper Bayern Munich

Frankfurt managed a season-defining win against Bayern Munich this Saturday which strengthened Frankfurt’s claim for the Champions League place. Eagles faultless first-half performance with goals from Daichi Kamada and Amin Younes set up the game for them. Bundesliga leaders Bayern woke up after half-time, but Robert Lewandowski's goal wasn't enough to save the match

Bayern’s super-sub Goretzka’s header missed the goal post in the 64th minute before Trapp denied Coman, the onslaught on Frankfurt’s goal was not enough. Bayern pushed every man upfront but Frankfurt's defense stood firm to deny the Bavarians, and eventually hand over their third defeat of the season.

Bayern Munich’s position at the top of the table has been weakened with Frankfurt taking over. Bayern's lead in the points table may get reduced to two points if second in table RB Leipzig wins on Sunday.
