This is kind of crazy, former France international Vixente Lizarazu is all for campaigning in Antoine Griezmann's favor to win the Ballon d'Or. But doing that is a very different thing compared to saying he reminds him of Zinedine Zidane when he was a player. When we talk about Zizou, we are talking about one of the best players in football history, Antoine is still far from such a distinction, he is barely being compared to Messi and Ronaldo today.
But Lizarazu doesn't care, in a nationalist manner he told L'Equipe that: "If I had to find a common point between Zinedine Zidane and Antoine Griezmann it would be their culture and their feel for the pass. These are two great creators of movement. They first think of others before thinking of themselves and that has a direct impact on the team.
"It sounds simple written that way, but it's much more complicated in practice. Zizou, everyone was looking for. Defenders trying to recover and the attackers in hope of receiving an assist."
