Manchester City and Arsenal drew 0-0

In a match with limited opportunities at Etihad Stadium, Nathan Ake's header straight at goalkeeper David Raya from a corner gave the reigning champion City the best chance to win. City had not scored in any of its previous 57 home games in all competitions until the goalless draw. With nine games remaining, Liverpool is two points ahead of second-place Arsenal after defeating Brighton 2-1 earlier in the day. City is one point behind in third.

City had won the last eight home games against Arsenal, and they had completely dominated this matchup in recent years. This included a 4-1 victory in April of last year, which was crucial in City's victory against the Londoners in the final match the previous season. The former City striker Gabriel Jesus had Arsenal's best chances; he missed two shots in the first half then came dangerously close to scoring after the interval.
