Manchester United releases eight players from the squad

Red Devils released a list of eight players who would be facing the axe soon. Manchester United aims to free up funds for big transfers this season by letting go of youngsters Jacob Carney, Mark Helm, Iestyn Hughes, Arnau Puigmal, Max Taylor, and Aliou Traore. The list also includes experienced goalkeeper Sergio Romero as well as Joel Pereira.

In the 61 appearances for the club, Romero just has one clean sheet to showcase, since then he was failed to compete against the likes of Dean Henderson. Pereira has featured just thrice in the United's first-team and the majority of his time was spent away from Old Trafford on loan spells. To make up for the loss of two goalkeepers United is persuading Paul Woolston to sign a new deal as well as Juan Mata and Lee Grant whose contracts are set to expire on June 30.
