Marseille confirm interest in Facundo Medina and Aymeric Laporte

OM’s sporting director, Medhi Benatia, has now revealed that RC Lens’ Facundo Medina (25) and Al-Nassr’s Aymeric Laporte (30) are targets for the club.

With Lens still needing to offload players in order to balance the books, Medina looks set to be the latest high-profile player to leave the club. The likes of Elye Wahi, Kevin Danso, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Brice Samba have all left within the past 12 months.

Marseille have been a rumoured suitor of the Argentinian centre-back. That interest has now been confirmed by Benatia, who was speaking on RMC Sport show Rothen s’enflamme. “We like his profile. He had given his word to stay at Lens until the end of the season. He has the quality and the character to play here,” said Benatia.

Laporte, whose contract at Al-Nassr is expected to be terminated, is also a concrete target for Les Phocéens.
