The way in which the famous photograph of Lionel Messi with the World Cup trophy was taken, while he was sleeping, was reported by Lionel Messi, in an interview with Olé, with the PSG striker having the help of... Otamendi.
"I remember perfectly well that we arrived at dawn and slept little. I think we only slept for an hour or two. It was six in the morning and I had turned on the television. My room was next to Otamendi and Rodrigo's [de Paul]".
"I don't know why the trophy ended up in my room that night. I had it next to me and that's when De Paul showed up. I know I put myself in that position and he said to me, 'I'll take a picture of you. '", he told.
