Barcelona's management had reached an agreement with Manchester United several days ago to sign Marcus Rashford on loan for one season, with an option for permanent purchase for 45 million euros next summer.
The player was scheduled to undergo medical examinations, with the official signing of the contract and photo session in the blue and red jersey set for today or tomorrow, before directly joining the team's training under coach Hans Flick.
The English star is expected to accompany the team on their Asian tour, which includes Japan and South Korea.
The signing of Rashford comes at the request of Flick to strengthen the left side offensively, after the club failed to secure Nico Williams, who renewed with Athletic Bilbao, as well as the difficulty in negotiating with Liverpool regarding Luis Diaz.
It is worth noting that the Rashford deal is Barcelona's second this summer, following goalkeeper Juan Garcia.
