Real Betis, a La Liga Club, revealed a new player joining the first team on Tuesday. This coincides with the club's long-awaited acquisition of goalie Álvaro Valles being confirmed.
For a long time, the name of goalie Valles was consistently featured prominently in Spanish media headlines. This occurred when the 27-year-old was relegated to a season of spectators. Those behind the scenes in Gran Canaria severely punished Valles after he made it plain that he would not be signing a contract extension with Las Palmas after a fantastic 2023–24 season. All the while, though, talks between the Spaniard and former club Real Betis were ongoing. This came with a view to a free agent joining of forces ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Real Betis: ‘Real Betis Balompié has secured the signing of Álvaro Valles.’
