Roma had a concerning propensity to offload gifted players before they could use them to their full potential. Whether it was Antonio Rüdiger, Alisson Becker, Mohamed Salah, Erik Lamela, or Marquinhos, the issue was not finding but retaining quality.
Even if Roma's turnover has somewhat decreased in recent years, the capital club is still unable to refuse high-profile bids from the PSGs, Real Madrids, and Liverpools of the world. The Giallorossi have been expertly turned around and their confidence has been restored by Claudio Ranieri. The one possible exception to that rule is center-back Evan Ndicka. Signed from Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer in 2023, the now 25-year-old Ivorian defender has been a mainstay for the Giallorossi. Over parts of two seasons with the club, Ndicka has logged an impressive 6,794 minutes, starting in 76 of his 77 appearances for the Giallorossi, including every single minute this season.
