Roma could be looking to sign a Newcastle United player

In the next months, a number of periphery players are anticipated to depart Newcastle due to contract expirations or transfers made by the team to remove their pay from the books. One of those whose contracts are about to expire is Loris Karius. According to a report from AS Roma Live, the Italian team is thinking of signing him on a free transfer. Finding a third-choice goalkeeper in the Premier League with greater experience than Karius, who made his Champions League debut, is difficult, but the same can be said about his pay.

Nick Pope was the only seasoned first-team goalkeeper available when Martin Dubravka requested to join Man United on loan, which is when the German international was brought in. While Dubravka did make a comeback in January, Pope's red card in the game before disqualified him from the Carabao Cup final, therefore Karius was forced to start for Newcastle at Wembley.
