After an outstanding individual season in which Liverpool easily won its second Premier League title, Mohamed Salah was awarded the Premier League's Player of the Season on Saturday. Ryan Gravenberch, a teammate, was named the season's young player. With four games left, Salah scored 28 goals and provided 18 assists to help the Anfield squad win the title.
After receiving it in 2017–18 as well, Salah became just the sixth player to win the award twice, joining Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic, and Kevin De Bruyne. The 32-year-old Egyptian was five goals ahead of Newcastle United's Alexander Isak as the season approached its final day on Sunday, putting him in position to win another Golden Boot for most goals in a season. For the first time since 2018–19, the award has not gone to a Manchester City player.
