Seedorf wants people to judge Zidane next season, not this one

It's quite evident that the negative results from this season haven't been Zinedine Zidane's fault, but regardless of the result of this final, the fair thing is to start judging the manager for what he does starting next season. That's when one could have an idea of the decisions he will start taking during the summer, transfers and exits. But as far as this season goes, he has a lot of credit for being able to resuscitate a team that was completely lost under Rafael Benitez.

To Dutch legend Clarence Seedorf, who won the Champions League with Real Madrid, Zidane shouldn't just be judged by his results but by his methods as well. Talking to Omnisport, Seedorf said: "Success is only based on results for the world. For me, success is what he will do from next year. I'm not going to judge him as a coach for these five months. It's great for him, he's achieved the final and improved on what the situation was.

The Dutchman was visiting Milano before the final, he obviously wanted Real Madrid to win and expects Los Blancos to lift their eleventh trophy in history: "But I don't judge coaches just for good results, so hopefully next year he will have the possibility to start the season and we can really see the hand of Zidane. It's a really balanced match. Of course I have Madrid in my heart but also I know that Atletico Madrid is a really strong team, so let's see," he said.
