After the impressive European Championship Wales had this past summer, there are many Welsh players who are currently being looked at and coveted by many clubs around Europe. One of the players who has left a really good impression with his performances is Liverpool's Joe Allen, but German manager Jurgen Klopp has already expressed his desire to keep him at the club. However, that doesn't stop clubs from expressing their interest in him.
Welsh club Swansea City has been recently purchased by investors Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan for €120 million. They are currently looking for players to improve their roster and Allen is among the selected few because of his Welsh nationality. Levien told the press that: "He [Allen] is certainly someone we have our eye on and we are discussing making a bid. We spent time thinking how additions to the club will fit in with the structure and he is someone with a great history here. He is still a young player. He is someone who multiple clubs are interested in, us included."
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins also spoke about the chance of Allen signing with the Swans: "We discussed [a move for Allen] with Liverpool a few weeks back. Stoke have made an offer. The player will decide where he wants to go. Liverpool are asking a fair fee for the fact he has one year left on his contract but they are entitled to."
