Hungary came back to the Euros with a strong statement, they are going for everything on this Group F as they got past Austria this Tuesday at Bordeaux. During the first half there were no eventful moments despite having Austria dominating the ball during the first 45 minutes, giving Hungary time and space was a big mistake for the second half. The Austrian National Team started to struggle and fading away as time passed by, whereas Hungary were just patient and were nearly perfect on their counter attack chances.
After a goalless draw during the first half, for the second half the Hungarian team seemed more lively and determined to score the first goal. This came on the 62nd minute through striker Szalai who played a beautiful one two with Kleinheisler, he then bursted into the box and slid the ball past goalkeepers Almer's arm with an outstretched foot. He stood up after scoring and ran to the crowd closest to him and fused in a massive group hug with them, it was the perfect comeback from Hungary to an European Championship.
But things weren't going to end there, Austria was going to completely surrender the game after centre back Dragovic was sent-off for a second yellow card after a foul on the attack. This gave Hungary more spaces and the chance to get a second and definitive goal to finish their rival off. Three minutes from the final whistle, Austria was caught up the pitch and off guard, Stieber reced through on goal and superbly lobbed the ball over goalkeeper Almer for the second and final goal. This result gives Hungary three points and the lead of Group F before Portugal plays against Iceland. For the second match day of this group, Austria will play against Portugal and Hungary will face Iceland.
