After the United secured the second place in the 2019 edition of the Myanmar National League, former Myanmar football star and the head coach of the team, Myo Hlaing Win, said that the position was an additional reward for the team.
“We were aiming to secure at least the third place in the national league before starting the 2019 season. The second place could be said to be an additional reward. I am pleased with the result, although we fell short of our goal of maintaining the championship position,” said Ayeyawady United head coach Myo Hlaing Win.
Ayeyawady United faced just two losses in the tourney, and the team was nominated as the second-best striking team, scoring 44 goals, after Shan United, which scored 45 goals.
Myo Hlaing Win has signed a long-term contract with Ayeyawady United for getting better opportunities for the team, said officials.
