Chelsea officially welcomes Carney Chukwuemeka

Blues confirm the signing of an England Under-19 international midfielder from Aston Villa. Carney Chukwuemeka, would be joining the Thomas Tuchel’s squad and stay put for six years. The 18year old was a part of the England squad that returned triumphant in the Under-19 European Championship this summer, he even scored in the final match against Israel. His impressive performance during the entire campaign even earned him a place in UEFA’s Team of the Tournament.

Chukwuemeka was ready to move on from Aston Villa this summer and had even refused to sign an extension which meant that Villa manager Steven Gerrard did not make him a part of the group that took part in the pre-season tour in Australia. Valued at £20 million, the young star would not come cheap but it does speaks highly about his skills. He might even be regarded as the country’s brightest young stars.
