Pedri has had an amazing year. He had a significant role in Barcelona's domestic triple victory after helping Spain win Euro 2024 previous summer. However, for the 22-year-old midfielder, things could have gone very differently. According to Diario AS, Pedri verified rumours that a few weeks prior, when Hansi Flick, his current coach at Barcelona, was in charge of the Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich, the club made an attempt to sign him.
"They showed interest in me, but I had an unwavering passion for Barcelona. It will be really tough for me to quit the club of my dreams. There have been suggestions for Pedri to win this year's Ballon d'Or, which will be presented by France Football later this year, because he was one of Barcelona's best players throughout the domestic season in 2024–25. He acknowledged that he was happy to be recognised and that he did feel somewhat confident about the situation.
