Premier League Golden Boot: Jamie Vardy close to overtaking Mohamed Salah

The race for 2021/22 Premier League Golden Boot is on and Jamie Vardy is close with a couple of goals to take over from Mohamed Salah. During the weekend the Leicester striker scored twice against Watford while Salah did not net even once against Southampton as Vardy cut Salah’s lead in the race. Liverpool’s ace is on 11 league goals for the season, while Vardy is on nine currently.

Salah would have a chance to increase his lead as Liverpool travels to Everton for a Merseyside derby while Leicester would face Southampton next in the season. With Goodison Park clash in sight Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota both sit on seven goals and fifth on the list is Michail Antonio from West Ham, the Hammer’s striker is on a mini goal drought but has a chance to change that with Brighton clash on the calendar next.
