Real Sociedad and Mallorca are both maintaining their strong La Liga starts.

La Real recovered from the departure of stalwart Alexander Isak to Newcastle United by picking up three significant road victories. Early on, neither team really created much, but at the start of minute 22, Brais Mendez broke past the Elche defence and scored an important goal for the Basque team. La Real's Mikel Merino missed a penalty kick in the second half, but they held on to the victory despite some late Elche pressure.

Mallorca won 2-0 away at Rayo Vallecano to secure their first victory of the season. Despite Radamel Falcao's effort in Vallecas hitting the post, Vedat Muriqi's early header gave the night to the visitors. In the second half, Kang-in Lee leapt inside the box to score the game-winning goal, giving Mallorca the upper hand once more.
