Santos hope to retain Neymar amid Barcelona return speculation

Santos president Marcelo Teixeira has emphasized his desire for Neymar to extend his stay at the club beyond the current season, despite growing speculation about a potential return to Barcelona this summer. Reports suggest that Neymar is eager to make a comeback at Camp Nou once his short-term contract with Santos expires. However, Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has recently downplayed these rumors.

Teixeira remains hopeful that Santos can persuade the Brazilian superstar to continue with the club. He insists that Neymar is currently focused and committed to helping the team, though the forward himself has left the door open regarding his future, stating, “Anything can happen.” With uncertainty surrounding his next move, Santos will likely make every effort to retain Neymar, even as European clubs keep a close watch on his situation ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
