Spurs recover to defeat Brentford 3-1

Spurs' form had been declining since the conclusion of the previous campaign, and they had only won one of their first four league games. In addition, Postecoglou's team just avoided a midweek League Cup loss to lower-tier Coventry despite having a terrible start against Brentford thanks to two late goals.

The Bees took the lead after only 22 seconds thanks to a thunderous shot from Bryan Mbeumo. But Spurs made a comeback after James Maddison's shot was parried by Mark Flekken, Dominic Solanke opened his Tottenham account with a tap-in. After that, Brennan Johnson responded with a precise low finish. Five minutes from the end, Maddison scored his first goal since March to seal the victory. In a similar manner, Villa needed a comeback to win their fourth game in five matches as well. Matheus Cunha had put Wolves ahead. Later Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa, and Jhon Duran scored as Villa sealed the victory.
