The 19-year-old will pen a four year deal with the Austrian side

The young player of the year from Scotland has arrived at Edinburgh Airport ahead of his Monday night journey to Austria. The out-of-contract Motherwell player has reached an agreement on a hefty, four-year deal that will pay him a five-figure wage per week. The gifted 19-year-old has scheduled his physical on Tuesday morning and is scheduled to arrive in Graz this evening.

He was one of Sturm Graz's highest paid players, and they went head-to-head with major teams in England, Italy, France, Portugal, and Belgium. The idea that Johnston would play regularly for the first team and get European experience was a major selling factor. In the third qualifying round for the Champions League, Graz was matched up against PSV Eindhoven. They will slip into the Europa League even if they don't advance. When Johnston signs his contract, Motherwell will be entitled to almost £300,000 in training compensation.
