Thiago Alcantara, a star for Liverpool, is not on Spain's roster

Takehiro Tomiyasu, an Arsenal and Japan defender, was shocked to learn that Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara had not been selected for the Spain team to compete in the World Cup in Qatar. Tomiyasu, a mainstay for both Japan's national team and Arsenal in the Premier League, was speaking prior to his team's match against Germany and was unaware that Thiago was not on the Spain roster.

There is no denying that Spain has a very great midfield that is incredibly stacked, but few players in the world, when healthy, are better than Thiago, and he deserves to be in Qatar. The 46-cap midfielder's most recent appearance for Spain came as a substitute in a semi-final loss at the 2019 UEFA European Championship. Without a doubt, Thiago expected to represent Spain at the World Cup and help his country, but he now must get over his sadness and focus on his future with Liverpool.
