Gift Orban, a striker for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, is close to going on loan to Verona, according to Florian Plettenberg. The 23-year-old will move to Serie A this season after only six months with his Bundesliga team. According to Plettenberg, Hoffenheim has included a €9 million purchase option and a €1 million borrowing charge in the agreement. Because of the summer squad alterations that put him lower in the TSG hierarchy, Orban was rumoured to be negotiating a move away from the Sinsheimers. The former Olympique Lyon player has signed a €9 million contract with his German team during the January 2025 transfer window.
Orban scored four goals in 12 league appearances for Christian Ilzer’s team last spring, but didn’t get his name on the scoresheet beyond the 23rd matchday.
