Memphis Depay relocated to Corinthians throughout the summer, but his deal might end in less than a month.
With a year remaining on his contract, the Dutchman consented to leave Atletico Madrid early as interest from numerous European teams grew. Depay decided to travel to Brazil instead, and he has already made four appearances for his new team there. However, financial concerns cast doubt on his future at Corinthians. According to Paulo Vinicius Coelho of Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian team is expected to lose Esportes da Sorte as their main sponsor due to the company's possible involvement in illegal activities. The bulk of Depay's salary is reportedly being covered by Esportes da Sorte, something they would be unable to do in the event that they were forced to sever their relationship with the team. With a £9 million annual contract with the Brazilian team, the 30-year-old is among the top paid players in the league.
