Saudi Arabia will host the 2027 Asian Cup and headline an all‑Arab Group A after Saturday’s draw in Riyadh, which had been postponed from April due to the regional situation to ensure full participation from all federations and partners. The hosts were grouped with Kuwait, Oman and Palestine, while Group B features World Cup qualifiers Uzbekistan and Jordan.
Two‑time defending champions Qatar were paired with Japan in Group F, a repeat of the 2019 final that launched Qatar’s current continental dominance. The tournament, staged in Saudi Arabia for the first time, will run from January seven to February five with twenty‑four teams competing.
The full draw produced the following groups: A: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Palestine; B: Uzbekistan, Bahrain, North Korea, Jordan; C: Iran, Syria, Kyrgyzstan, China; D: Australia, Tajikistan, Iraq, Singapore; E: South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Lebanon or Yemen; F: Japan, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia.
