Vinicius–Real Madrid talks stalled over salary gap and image rights

Contract renewal talks between Vinicius Jr and Real Madrid have reached a standstill, with the two sides separated by a five‑million‑euro gap and a dispute over image rights. According to AS, the winger currently earns around €15 million net per season under a deal signed in 2022 that runs until 2027. After initially requesting €30 million, Vinicius has lowered his demands to €20 million, but Madrid have yet to match that figure.

A major sticking point concerns image rights, which Vinicius currently shares with the club under Real Madrid’s standard policy. The Brazilian is pushing for a larger share, similar to Kylian Mbappé’s arrangement, and discussions have also touched on a renewal bonus — something Madrid are unwilling to offer.

Although Vinicius wants to stay, the lack of progress leaves his future uncertain. Without an agreement soon, he could negotiate freely with foreign clubs from 1 January.
