Acerbi’s injuries prompt Inter to consider defensive signing

Everyone agrees that Inter has one of the deepest squads in Serie A, and that the club has been further enhanced by summer arrivals Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi, particularly by offering more offensive options. But if the Nerazzurri don't want to be caught off guard in the upcoming months when their schedule is packed with important games both at home and abroad, the first five months of the season also brought to light a few problems that might be worth resolving during the January transfer window.

At this point, Inter's defence appears to be their weakest area. Coach Simone Inzaghi has frequently emphasised how the injuries to Francesco Acerbi and Benjamin Pavard, as well as Carlos Augusto's prolonged absence, have made it more difficult to rotate the team as he would have liked.
