Arsenal 2-0 victory over Olympiakos

After Gabriel Martinelli had touched in an early goal after a Viktor Gyokeres shot came back off the post, Saka, who entered as a second-half substitute, scored through the legs of Olympiakos custodian Kostas Tzolakis off a feed from Martin Odegaard. Martinelli's goal gave the Gunners the impression that they would have an easy evening, but Olympiakos made them fight for the victory by threatening an equaliser in a second half that was occasionally nerve-wracking.

In an otherwise lopsided first half, David Raya was put into action multiple times in the second quarter and made a spectacular one-handed stop to deny Daniel Podence. The home team's fluency seemed unaffected by the six changes made by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta from Sunday's late victory against Newcastle, despite Gyokeres and Leandro Trossard's inability to take advantage of scoring opportunities.
