Bayern Munich drops their third consecutive game

For the first time since 2015, Bayern Munich lost three straight games and was humbled by Bochum. They fell eight points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the fight for the Bundesliga championship. The outcome came after Leverkusen's 3-0 league loss the previous weekend and Lazio's 1-0 Champions League loss, which put coach Thomas Tuchel under further strain.

If Bayern had any hopes of climbing back from a 3-1 scoreline with Bochum leading, they were quashed when Dayot Upamecano elbowed Kevin Stöger in the box, earning a second yellow card, giving away a penalty, and was sent out for the second straight game, leaving Bayern down to 10 men. Stoeger fired the penalty past Manuel Neuer. With three minutes left, Harry Kane gave Bayern a lead back. He even had a late chance to tie the score, but he sent a weak header straight at Bochum goalkeeper Manuel Riemann.
