Celta Vigo 2-1 defeating Mallorca

With four games impacting the championship race, the European chase, and the relegation war, it was again another exciting day in La Liga. Barcelona hosted Real Betis, Real Madrid played Valencia, while the remaining games saw Girona playing Alaves at Montilivi and Celta Vigo travelling to Mallorca. After an incredible comeback victory over Mallorca at Son Moix, Celta Vigo is still in the lead to guarantee a spot in Europe at the conclusion of the season. Martin Valjent's header from a corner gave the home team the lead at the seventeenth minute, but the visitors took the lead in the second half.

Alfon Gonzalez netted a spectacular equaliser for Claudio Giraldez’s side, before substitute Fer Lopez scored the winner just minutes after coming on for captain Iago Aspas. Celta stay seventh in the La Liga table with this result, but they have now opened up a three-point gap to Rayo Vallecano and Mallorca, who are eighth and ninth respectively.
