Copa America Cenenario: Brazil vs Peru preview

After completely demolishing Haiti in the last match for 7-1, manager Dunga finally had a chance to breathe despite not being able to bring Neymar Jr for this tournament. Among the most sensible absentees for the game against Peru, Casemiro is the player who they will absolutely miss. He saw one too many yellow cards in two consecutive matches and earned a suspension for this match against the Peruvian National Team.

Centre midfielder Walace is the one who will replace Casemiro for this match, he is ready for the challenge as he faces striker Paolo Guerrero who he knows very well from the Brazilian league: "[Head coach] Dunga has not spoken to me. But if he chooses me, I will try to do my best. Each player has his own style - Casemiro has it. If I am chosen, I will try to do better."

"I was eager to play, but this is normal for any player who comes on for the first time. It took a little time to adapt, but I was fine. Today, I am a little more comfortable and hope to have a little more opportunity. I am calm - I have passed the stage of having butterflies in my stomach. I faced Guerrero in Corinthians and Flamengo. He is a very smart player, we cannot give him much space. He has a good first touch. He is one of the players we have to worry about."

Possible lineups:

Brazil starting lineup (4-1-4-1 formation): Alisson; Alves, Marquinhos, Gil, Luis; Walace; Willian, Elias, Augusto, Coutinho; Jonas.

Peru starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Gallese; Revoredo, Ramos, Rodriguez, Trauco; Vilchez, Tapia; Hohberg, Cueva, Flores; Guerrero.
