Eriksson wants Sweden to change Ibra's mind

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced that he will no longer play for his country after the Euros concluded, this is very bad news for all the Swedish community because Ibrahimovic is one of those players who come once every generation. At his age, if he wants to perform at the same level he's been doing it for the last decade, it's a good idea for him to leave his international duty a side and focus in playing at his best for Manchester United.

But people from Sweden think otherwise, for Sven Goran Eriksson who is Zlatan's compatriot, the player should be convinced of returning to play for as along as he is active. There are other players who have already proved that they can do it at an advanced age, many examples that mostly are goalkeepers but there are others who can do it in different positions.

Eriksson spoke to Omnisport about convincing Zlatan to return: "Of course it's a big loss. Zlatan has been the best player for the Sweden in the history of the country. His career has been fantastic as he heads to Manchester United. But you never know in football. The new coach has to bring a new team, a little bit of a new team, and then I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to convince Zlatan to stay for a couple of years as long as he continues to play for United. If I was coach, I'd try to convince Zlatan."
