Hertha Berlin coach Bruno Labbadia had to wait 5 1/2 months for his first game with supporters cheering on his side.
Bruno Labbadia’s side lost the game on home ground to Eintracht Frankfurt by 3-1 in the Bundesliga. Berlin’s Olympia stadion saw 4000 fans cheering the team on despite their loss for the first time since the pandemic. Labbadia joined the team in April and since then he has headed the team towards nine league matches but this was the first one with such a huge audience to witness the game. Frankfurt dominated the game since the start with André Silva’s penalty shot within 30 minutes of the game when Hertha captain Dedryck Boyata cost the team a foul. Bas Dost struck a header off Daichi Kamada’s free-kick and increased the lead to two and in the 70th minute, Sebastian Rode increased the lead further to 3-0. With the help of Martin Hinteregger Hertha was able to strike just one goal against Frankfurt in the 76th minute.
