On paper, Chelsea has some of the most impressive roster on the offensive side of the coin, but the players they have are not currently going through their best moments. Radamel Falcao was at one point the best striker in the world, Alexandre Pato on the other hand was one of Europe's most special talents back in his days at Milan. But both players suffered set backs that turned them into disposable strikers that no managers trusts.
Falcao has been struggling with injuries and has never really returned to the amazing world class striker he once was during his Porto and Atletico Madrid days, that knee injury took that spark from him that everybody loved. Pato on the other hand became more aware of his surroundings outside of the field and his level dropped dramatically to the point of being relegated back to the Brazilian league with Sao Paulo. Out of the two of them, Pato is the one who seems to be slowly getting back to his old self, Falcao's situation seems more precarious.
Manager Guus Hiddink revealed that he will give them a chance prove themselves to incoming manager Antonio Conte: "I have to make my fair judgement to this. We give them their opportunity. There is not much time and space to prove yourself, but you can show yourself in training. In January we had a big problem just having Diego Costa. Loic Remy was a long time injured, so was Falcao, and [Bertrand] Traore was not at the level yet. But at that time we brought Pato in on loan, he played one and a half games, and in training I see him. We make the judgement fairly to give players time to play, but there is competition. We will see with the next management if they are a part of the plans."
